MOTUC Monogram Roton Rider
I don't know why, but I've always been interested in the mysteriously half-hidden Monogram box art characters. When I saw The Raw's MOTUC vision artwork, I got the impetus to finally make one. Hopefully there will be more of this guys down the road.
Recipe: Head: MOTUC Faker, DCSH Azreal, Apoxie Sculpt Cape: Modified DCSH Steel Body: MOTUC Triklops Boots: MOTUC Zodak, MOTUC Stratos Staff: MOTUC Zodak

Nice work!! The cowl is seamlessly integrated and the blue paint gives the figure a really cool look.

| I think the Roton Rider should be released as a MOTUC bonus figure at some point, and credit should go to He-Mike for bringing attention to this obscure character. Very cool. It actually looks very nice for what it is -- nice details in the face. |

ah... he SHOULD get released yes, and a nod to he-mike WOULD be appropriate... BUT he should come after poe & noisy's already lauded wind raider pilot (i've dubbed him wind rider for short) are there any other motu mystery men? i thought monogram had a couple...
and again, i'm totally behind some of the beasts and characters who appeared in the mini-comics only, like geldor and some of the odd demon beasts w/ fur and giant fangs... motuc has a TON of material to draw figs from. realisticially, 2016 was an estimate i know, but i think they could keep the line rolling well into 2020, if current interest holds up, simply because there's that much material available, even BEFORE adding in "new" characters like BA faker or Faker at Arms. |

I just posted over at the .org about this. I just had the thought to make the guys from the model kit box art thinking "no one else would possibly think of making these guys". I didn't take the "He-Mike Factor" into it(it wont happen again ).
Ok, now show me the guy from the Attak-Trak model He-Mike! And save me the trouble by making me one too. |
COMING SOON!

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Over at the .org it was asked who the other mysterious characters were, so I'm posting the reply over here too.
There's two other Monogram characters and another mysterious fellow in a wind Raider from the old checklist poster. I've got a few ideas rolling around about them, but nothing concrete yet. There so many other great characters to choose from it's hard to say when, or if I'll get to these guys.
Great pics here: http://www.finalfrontiertoys.com/He-Man_Masters_of_the_Universe_MIB_MISB.htm
and here: http://www.poeghostal.com/2009/10/the-grayskull-poster-from-adam-to-zodac.html
***Sadly I don't have the actual model to pose him next to. I never even had the toy as a kid. More pragmatically I don't have enough display space for any vehicles I really want. I don't know what I'll do next month when Battle-Cat comes out. I'll probably have to put a few more figures in boxes to make room for him. If rearrange my place I might be able to get squeeze another book shelf in. |

I have the Talon Fighter model, I got it with intentions on building it for my 200x collection (but I was a slave to Mickey Mouse back then) and never got around to it. It's a much sleeker, streamlined version on that already awesome design.
Now, thanks to you He-Mike, I think I'm gonna break it out and make the pilot. Like I said before, I got inspired to make these guys earlier this week when I ran across those models on FinalFrontiers site. It kills me because I picked up the Talon Fighter sealed for like $5 on eBay back in like '04. The others were going for about the same. Good luck getting them for that now. |
COMING SOON!

Wow, great custom. He kind of looks like a good guy though :P.
One question: do you spray-paint the figures, or do you use a brush?
