Jewel Thief: Pirate of the Galaxseas!!!

I knew that I wanted to update the old Remco "Jewel Thief" from the Conan line, but I wanted to do something a little different. I decided to merge his character with the Remco "Crossbones" from the Pirates of the Galaxseas line. The two figures used the same skull mold, which was the inspiration for the character merge.

Cool custom. Could you explain how the LEGOs fit in? I'm not seeing it.

Ed, if you look at the dismantled picture you will see a long black rod the torso slides over and the rods that slide into the boots are legos. Those are the lego rods that are part of some pieces. I'm pretty sure that's what the LEGOs make up for it's construction.

He-Mike, this is outstanding!!!

I've been checking out a lot of customs made of old Remco figures using the MotUC bodies/parts, and I'm so diggin' it!

Nice execution and great use of a very underappreciated but outstanding line; Skeleton Warriors.

COMING SOON!

Ebonhorn has it right. I used the short Lego flag poles and Lego single-peg round blocks (y'know the Lego cannon balls) for the swivel joints (hands, torso, hips & boots). Legos have a great snug fit and are small enough to fit thin contact points.

Combined with Sun Fac swivel/ball joints in the shoulders, elbows & knees, this guy has all the regular MOTUC articulation except for an ab-crunch.

Now I get it. I forgot about those little canister pieces. I was thinking modern, like Bionicle or something. Not a bad idea there. And yeah, Skeleton Warriors wasn't bad. I only have the human figure, Prince Lightstar, but the others are really good for what they are. This red repaint actually make the figure look better. Very nice.

he-mike, this is amazing.

One of my favorite action figures as a kid was "Ribs" from the Pirates of the Galaxseas. He was also right in the middle of my MOTU collection and I used him as one of my main bad guys.

Anyhow, I still have him and he is still sitting out on one of my shelf's with the rest of my collection.

I never had either skeleton but always loved their looks. I'm thinking about eventually doing another Remco combo of Ribs and Skull-Man.
