So I was reading Poe Ghostal's Christmas figures article on his website, and it got me motivated to finally take some pictures of my Christmas figure display and get them posted.
Years ago, I started collecting anything related to the 1964 Rankin Bass T.V. special "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". Needless to say, as a "collector", the addiction spun quickly out of control and I ended up with tons of Rudolph stuff....we have all been there. 
So through the years, I made a display base for some of the figures and in evolved into a pretty big base. I set it up every year (its a b&tch to store), which is fun because this is the closest I get to display much of any action figures in our house. 
Anyhow, here are a few of the pictures. If you want to see more, then you can see them by clicking here.
The room they are in is tiny and lit bad, so getting good quality pictures is a pain. My buddy just got a wide angle lens for his Nikon, so that helped a bit. The funny thing is....the stuff in the pictures is only a small part of the collection, I have tons of stuff boxed up with no where to go......I guess they will always be misfit toys.

Thanks kingkahn....yes, I made the whole thing myself. Well at the time, my Dad was part of the process as well.

Thanks guys.
I was going to bump this at some point before Christmas. I actually spent the weekend going through old pictures trying to find some work in progress shots from A LONG time ago when I built this. Poe Ghostal is doing something on his site in a week or two and I needed some WIP shots for that.
I finished putting it up for this year about a week ago. If I don't put it up early enough, its hard to justify all the work for only a week or so.
So they havent come out with new figures for this is awhile.....well this year a new company picked up the line and put stuff out again. Theres some old figures with some new accessories......needless to say, I spent ALL weekend trying to find these guys and wasnt able to find them all. I still need two. So I'm not totally at the point yet, but am thinking I may have to ask for help on here to check some Toys R Us's in your area. Ill let you know if it comes to that. It seems like Toys R Us is the only place that carries the full line of them this year, and it seems most have been selling out. (at least around here)
DR (or other OP's), the link on the first post that shows the slideshow of the toys isnt working any longer. As we know, I cannot change anything in that post. Is that something you can do?

How's you'd say the quality is on them (1-10, A-F, starts, etc.)?
Those Mickeys were out a few years back. They were done by Memory Lane, the same that did the Rudolph stuff.
As far as quality, they are pretty good.
HAHAHA, nice blast from the past!
I actually ended up eBaying a (full?) set last year, and look forward to displaying it again this year, too.

LOL...I should take a drive by Dwals and see it first hand this year!
 
I'm hoping to start decorating tomorrow. I have more Star wars christmas stuff than the Rudolph, but still working on getting more of that this year. |

we're closing in on festivus time again and i felt the need to bump this thread and see if anyone else has a buffed lil display like the might dwals... and had to show this off to the wife, who i swear i've shown it to, but she doesn't remember it. she loves the rudolph stuff and secretly hopes to grow up one day to have a set up to rival dwals. though she would mix the rudolph and NBX stuff. |
