Knowing how Mattel loves to milk those Supermen molds, I wouldn't doubt it. First solid. Then clear. Then clear with GLITTER.

Does anyone remember... way back when Hasbro/Kenner had the Man of Steel line (w/ Doomsday, Massacre, Conduit, etc) there was a Batman/Superman two-pack where they each had on some weird chest armor?

Then there was the same two-pack but vacuum-metallized?

Then they re-released them clear in the Total Justice line?

Those were done to death.

I kinda thought we'd see more of the big guns in the first assortments.
Y'know, to get things rolling.
Remember, Marvel Legends started off with Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk and .. uh, Toad.

But seeing this bunch actually made me thinkn that this is a strategy designed to survive for the long haul.

Spreading out the big guns over several waves and including more obscure guys.

And as much as I want my Wonder Woman and Flash now, man oh man am I ever happy to be getting a Black Manta 4H style!! I never thought I'd see the day but I just love that guy's look.

Course they can always go one way now and do the other later...

...and then the line dies!

Man I HOPE Mattel learns from the problems with the packouts on DCSH and don't kill this line with endless Bat and Supes repacks and repaints.

The best news I heard at the SDCC Panel was that each figure would only ship once and NOT get repacked in future case mixes.

I hope they stick to this as the repeat packouts of the same main characters has killed MOTU, Avatar, JLU, DCSH...

So what are we missing then an orange one....or how about a stealth black one.....
NoisyDvL5 Posted - 08/04/2007 : 17:40:33

Actually! I just remembered that hard-light hologram PURPLE electric Superman from Morrison's JLA run.

We've almost got a rainbow going...

If we have yellow, we need green.

I'd really only be interested in Superman Red and Blue if they had clear blue and red plastic bodies with white paint apps. Of course, I'll probably eat my words later. It all depends on the rest of the assortment and the BAF.

I swear, I never expected it to be a vicious 3-way fight for my money. First Marvel Toys announces LCBH. Next Hasbro steps it up with their newer Marvel Legends. Then Mattel adopts the BAF format with DC Classics. It's a mad house! A MAD HOUSE!!!
NoisyDvL5 Posted - 08/02/2007 : 21:38:32

I expected both of them to have the Kal-El head.

The Hasbro Superman Blue and Red had the Hunter/Prey head.
Ebonhorn Posted - 08/02/2007 : 13:11:45
a different face sculpt would work. Where as blue was more serene, calm, the thinker type. Red was impetuous, bullheaded, and the fighter. So different faces would be cool

On a side note, I will be really upset if I do not get a Red Supes, to go with the Blue Supes.

Don't worry. You'll get both. -FH-

wonder if that means they gonna do a little different sculpt ...maybe a retool for the red one?
NoisyDvL5 Posted - 08/02/2007 : 01:43:06

Superman Red... just one more figure I have to buy!
